Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs: shine, shine, shine!

Last week I wrote on a haul post that I had bought the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs recommended by Sarah (@SWalkerMakeup), to hide scars and imperfections on my legs. It is a sort of fake tan, but because I bought it in the colour ‘light glow’, I don’t use it for tanning.

The first time I used the product, I had only just shaved my legs with a razor, and it irritated my skin a little bit. I washed the product off after a couple of hours, but when I woke up the next day, I noticed some red bumps all over my legs, which wasn’t very good, but it went away the same day.

Yesterday I tried the product again after shaving my legs with a shaver instead of a razor to see if it would make any difference… and it did! It didn’t irritate my skin, instead, it made my legs feel very soft. So I guess I won’t try it again if I shave my legs with a razor.

It has a very runny and grainy consistency, and it will stain your clothes if you are not careful. On the bottle it says to wait 30 seconds before getting dressed, but I waited about 2 minutes, just in case.

On the photo I have I’ve sprayed it only once, and that’s the amount of product you get, but when I  used it on my legs, I applied a considerable amount on each leg (about 4 sprays a couple of times).

In terms of how my legs looked with the product, immediately after applying it I noticed a huge difference. My scars were much lighter and my legs had a very sexy glow to it!

Because I was in a hurry, I didn’t inspect it too much before leaving the house. So, when I was in a very bright shop, I noticed that my legs were sparkling a bit, but at close inspection it wasn’t just a bit sparkly, it was seriously glittery!

The first photo is without flash and the second is with flash. You can see for yourself how glittery I looked! It was a bit embarrassing at first, but I got over it after a while!

So, if you are going to be in a place with bright lights, or taking close ups of your legs with flash, I don’t recommend using the Airbrush Legs, unless you want to look as though you rubbed glitter all over your legs. Otherwise, you can definitely get away with it because the sparkle will not be visible to the naked eye under natural light, and it will just look like you’ve got gorgeous, sexy, glowing legs!

The difference is very, very subtle without flash, I’m not even sure you will be able to see that the bottom photo is the glittery one, and the top has no product on it.

As I’ve mentioned on my previous post, this costs £9.99 in the UK and you can buy it in Superdrug.

I hope you girls enjoyed my review and please let me know if you have used this product and if you liked or not. Also, I’d love some recommendations of similar products!
