REVIEW: Rimmel Exaggerate Automatic Waterproof Eye Definer

Bonjour, dolls!

Today’s post is a review of the Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer, an eyeliner pencil in the colour Aqua Sparkle.

I bought this completely at random in a Asda when I went late night shopping with my boyfriend; I hadn’t heard or read anything about this eyeliner before buying it, but because I’m going on holiday in a week’s time, I’ve been kind of obsessed with waterproof makeup, so that’s why this caught my eye and I thought I’d give it a go.

This eyeliner retails at £3.99 in Boots, and my first impression of the packaging was great!

On the one end, you remove the cap and twist at the middle to reveal the eyeliner, and on the other end, when you pull the see-through cap you get a smudge brush, and if you pull even further on the black plastic rim you get a sharpener! How cool is that?

The only problem is that I had no idea all this was there because there is no clear indication of them both being there, apart from a very discrete arrow pointing to the small cap.

The eyeliner itself is very standard, however, there is nothing standard about this gorgeous bright blue colour with sparkles! Under natural light you can see that it’s got a bit of green to it, turning into an aqua colour, which is very convenient since the name of this pencil is “aqua sparkle”.

At first when I applied it, I wasn’t too sure if it was far too bright, but after a while I got used to it and as time went by I loved it more and more. I think it went really well with my brown eyes and made them pop! I absolutely love this for the summer because you don’t need much makeup with this eye liner on. Just a bit of blush, some mascara and you’re done!

I’ve rubbed it on my hand several times to see if it would smudge, but it didn’t move at all! It literally adheres to your skin and stays there like a stain. Yesterday I went swimming and after 4 hours in the pool and a shower the colour was still there; granted, it wasn’t as strong as when I first applied it, but it was there and it hadn’t smudged!

This is definitely going with me on holiday and I’m sure I’ll be wearing it almost every day just for a pop of colour. I’m not too sure if I’ll wear this much when the summer is over, just because it’s such a bright colour, but I might buy more discrete colours, such as the brown, dark blue and black.

The verdict? I’m impressed and I’m so happy with my random purchase! I definitely give it 5 stars :)

I hope you guys found this informative and, please, leave a comment below if you have anything to say about this eyeliner!
