Halloween Costume: Little Red Riding Hood – Makeup, Nails and Outfit

Halloween 2011 is here, and this year I decided to go as Little Red Riding Hood. It’s simple, effortless and cute! I got my outfit from a local fancy dress shop, and for £27 it came with the dress, apron and cape with hood, so it was a pretty good deal because all I had to worry about was hair and makeup.

Hair & Makeup

The hair is pretty simple – long and straight, and the makeup focuses on a bright red lipstick, very flawless and pale skin, and neutral tones on the eyes. Here is was I did:

Face

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (shade Softan)

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (shade 4) under the eyes

bareMinerals Tinted Mineral Veil

Soleil Tan de Chanel Moiturizing Bronzing Powder (shade 62) to contour the face

MAC Blush (Peaches) on the cheeks

Eyes

MAC Paint Pot (Bare Study) all over the lid

17 Wild Metallic Cream Eyeshadow (Wild Bronze) on the lid, near the lashline

Urban Decay Eyeshadow (Buck) on the crease

Urban Decay Eyeshadow (Virgin) on the browbone

MAC Fluidline (Blacktrack) along the top lashline

MAC Eyeshadow (Carbon) over the top of the gel eyeliner to set it in place and intesify

Lips

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick (shade 1)

After all these products, can you believe I completely forgot to put on mascara?! Silly girl! At least removing my makeup was much easier! :-)

Nails

On my nails I have Essie Silken Cord and Barry M Nail Paint Red Glitter over the top. Unfortunately the photos are not true to the real life 3D effect these 2 nail varnishes created together.

The Other Half

Since I was Little Red Riding Hood, my boyfriend was the Big Bad Wolf. The outfit is pretty simple, and he dressed if he was going out for dinner, and I was the meal! :-) He wore a white shirt, dinner jacket, bow tie and jeans, and we got the mask and the furry hands from a local fancy dress shop for £10.

So that might give you some ideas if you are going to a Halloween party as a couple and you want to do something together.

Happy Halloween!

Au revoir!
Ysis
