REVIEW: Rimmel Lasting Finish and Moisture Renew Lipsticks

The recent additions to my lipstick collection are two Rimmel lipsticks. After being incredibly pleased with the Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish collection, I went back for more!

The Looks

I picked two different shades of two different collections. On the left, a Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in the shade Undressed #240; on the right, a Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in the shade Sweetheart Tulips #215.

The packaging of the Lasting Finish Lipstick is exactly the same is the Kate Moss collection, but just without the little signature on the side. It’s nothing special, although I love the Rimmel symbol on the top of the lid.

On the other hand, the packaging on the Moisture Renew is a lot more attractive. It comes in a metallic purple-ish blue tube and it also has the Rimmel symbol on the top of the lid.

The Contents

‘Undressed’ is a nude brown colour, perfectly neutral and it doesn’t leave your lips looking dead, but gives them just a hint of classy colour. In my simple words, I would describe the lipstick from the Lasting Finish collection as highly pigmented with amazing staying power and a soft feel to the lips; do apply a balm underneath if you have a tendency to get dry patches on your lips. I find that this shade works really well with dramatic eyes and a LBD (little black dress).

‘Sweetheart Tulips’ is a bright pink shade with tiny flecks of shimmer, that are barely noticeable to the naked eye, but it actually creates an amazing effect when photographed. The Rimmel Moisture Renew collection is a lot more moisturising (as the name gives it away!) and nourishing without compromising the colour payoff. I prefer this formulation to the Lasting Finish one because I suffer from dry lips every so often, and they do not look very attractive with un-moisturising lipsticks.

I love how the colours are so rich and unique, and how they go really well together as you can see from the photos. They are both attractive in their own way and I’m ever so glad I bought these lippies!

The Verdict

Overall Marks: I’d give 8/10 to the Lasting Finish Lipstick and 9/10 to the Moisture Renew. Both of them passed the test with flying colours!

Now I want to know what YOU think! Did you like these Rimmel lipsticks? Do you own any of them? If not, would you buy them? As always, leave a little comment below :)
