REVIEW: Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner

In the beginning of this week I received my October Glossybox which, amongst other great things, also contained a Stila product and made lots of people happy, including moi.

The Looks

This is the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in the shade “Moray”and I love how the colour of the packaging is true to the colour of the eyeliner itself. The one thing I don’t like is that the stick is one of those ‘wind up only’ ones, which means that if you wind it up too much, there’s nothing you can do to push it down; you’ll just have to deal with it!

The Contents

The shade Moray is a very unique shade; It’s definitely in the family of greens, but it’s not your traditional green. It reminds me of a forest, but not just the trees in a forest, the whole forest feel! In fact, I found a photo online that it’s exactly how I would describe this colour:

It also has some gold shimmer and a metallic feel to it. I honestly can’t describe how much I’m in love with this colour! But with a hefty price tag of £13, if I had gone to a shop to buy this, I probably wouldn’t have chosen this shade. I would have gone for a more traditional shade thinking I could get more use out of it, but I’m now that I have it, I wouldn’t trade it for a black or brown eyeliner in a million years!

This is the creamiest eyeliner pen I’ve ever tried; it’s highly pigmented and it’s easy to apply because the pen literally glides on your skin. It’s also waterproof, which is always a plus!

The Photos

This eyeliner is such a statement product that it can definitely be worn on its own. It looks amazing if you draw a thick line above your top lashline, or maybe use it as an eyeshadow and smoke it out on the lid. I’ts perfect for autumn because it’s still a dark colour, but moves away from your traditional blacks and browns.

The Verdict

Overal marks: I’d give this a 8/10. If only it had a wind up and down mechanism and the tip was thinner to make it easier to do a winged eyeliner look, but nevertheless, I think it’s a great eyeliner, with such a unique colour and one of the best formulations I’ve ever tried.

Hope this was helpful to some of you, and I’ll see you very soon :)
