Urban Decay’s Naked Palette 2 is finally out, and a few days ago I wrote my review/first impressions of it (here). Over the next few days I’ll be doing some eye makeup looks using only the Naked 2 so you can have an idea what you can get for your £36 investment. The first look is a neutral daytime look using a hint of brown and copper to create a gorgeous, yet subtle, eye-catching effect.

I started by prepping my face with a medium coverage dewy foundation to even out the skin tone and maintain the natural glow of the skin. I used concealer to reduce the appearance of dark circles under my eyes and on selected blemishes. I opted for not powdering my skin because that would take away a bit of the dewy/glowy finish I wanted. To finish the face, I applied a peach blush all over my cheeks and a pink blush on the apples of my cheeks.

For the eyes, I started with ‘Foxy’ all over the lid carrying it up to the brow bone which gave me a clean base to work the other colours on. Next, I applied ‘Chopper’ just on the centre of my eyelids and ‘Tease’ on the crease to create some depth. I applied a bit of ‘Bootycall’ on the inner corner of my eyes to ‘open’ them up, and lined ¾ of my lower lashline with ‘Blackout’, avoiding the lower inner corner. I, then, used a pencil brush to blend the black shadow and get rid of any harsh lines, and finished it off with black eyeliner on my lower waterline and 2 coats of mascara on my top and bottom lashes.

For my eyebrows I filled in the gaps with a brown eyeliner pencil and used a white eyeliner pencil to highlight directly under the brows, blending it in with my fingers.

On my lips I used a nude lipstick with a pink/nude lipgloss over the top.

And that is the finished look! I think it’s perfect for work, school, or even just a casual shopping trip with the girls. It’s definitely suitable for all skin tones because the shades are so neutral, and if you want to spice it up you can even rock a bright pink lippie!

What do you think of this look? Let me know on the comments below :)

Au revoir!

Ysis
