This is the second look of my series of makeup looks using the brand new Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 (click here to see the first daytime look). This is an evening look, using shimmery shades of silver, champagne and brown, and a bright pink lipstick to break the darkness of the makeup.
I started by prepping my face with a primer, which is an essential item of an evening makeup look. The primer will hold your makeup in place for much longer and it also helps to give you a flawless skin finish, as it smoothens fine lines and pores. Next, I applied a medium to full coverage foundation all over my face and neck, followed by under eye concealer. Because the foundation I chose already gives me a matte velvety finish, I skipped the powder, and moved straight on to the a sheer layer of blush all over my cheeks.

I primed my eyes with a cream coloured primer, then applied ‘Pistol’, the dirty shimmery silver colour all over the lid up to the brow bone. Next, I buffed a generous amount of Busted on the outer corner and crease; make sure to have a wet wipe next to you to clean the edges as this shadow can be a bit messy to work with. I, then, applied a little bit of ‘Tease’ on the crease, taking it slightly over the brow bone; this helps the colours blend gradually, rather than having separate bulks of colour. Now I needed a light champagney/silvery colour to contrast with the darker shadows, so I applied ‘Verve’ just on the centre of the lid. To finish the eyes, I dabbed a bit of ‘Bootycall on the inner corner of my eyes, lined my upper lashline with a black gel eyeliner and my lower lashline with ‘Blackout’, and applied 2 coats of black mascara on both my upper and lower lashes. The final touch was to apply a white eyeliner on my lower waterline; that will prevent my eyes from disappearing in the middle of all the dark eyeshadows, especially if you have dark brown to black eyes.

For my eyebrows I filled in the gaps with a brown eyeliner pencil and used a white eyeliner pencil to highlight directly under the brows, blending it in with my fingers. For the lips, I chose a bright pink lipstick to contrast with the dark eye makeup and make this look a bit more fun and young looking. I also curled some sections of my hair with a curling wand, creating loose bouncy waves that blend in with the rest of the hair.

And that is the finished look! I’m absolutely in love with this look; it doesn’t involve much work, but the colours blended in together create an interesting smokey eye that I’ve never achieved before my Naked 2.

What do you think of this look? What are your favourite eyeshadows from the Naked 2 to create an evening look?

Au revoir!

Ysis
