Kim Kardashian may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but she sure knows how to rock a smokey eye like no one else! A few months ago I posted a Kim Kardashian look (here), which was inspired by her wedding day makeup. This time, I decided to do a traditional smokey eye that is perfectly wearable for daytime or evening.

Kim’s skin always looks perfectly even and glowy, so started by applying a moisturiser to get rid of some of the dry skin I get around my nose and between my eyebrows. Next, I applied a primer to minimise my pores and followed it by a medium coverage dewy foundation. I then applied concealer under my eyes and anywhere else that needed a touch-up, followed by a lightweight powder on my T-Zone to set my foundation. For some reason I forgot to contour, so if you’re recreating this look, don’t forget to contour under your cheekbones. I finished off the face with a generous amount of blush; I used a warm peach blush for this look.

For the eyes, I used a bronze eyeshadow with a creamy texture all over the lid. That way the other eyeshadows would have something to stick to. Next, I used a precision brush to add some definition to my crease with a taupe brown eyeshadow, then used a blending brush to create the smokey effect. After applying the dark eyeshadow, my eye-area looked far too dark, so I applied champagne shade to the centre of my eyes to brighten them up. I then lined my upper lashline with a black gel eyeliner, keeping it thicker on the outer corner and thinner on the inner corner. I also lined my lower waterline with the gel eyeliner to get that intense black line that is so characteristic of Kim K.

To finalise the look I curled my lashes and applied two coats of mascara on my top and bottom lashes. You can even apply false lashes if you like, but I’m just useless at applying them, so I stuck to mascara. I used a brown eye pencil to fill in my eyebrows and a pink lipstick on my lips. Kim normally wears a lipgloss on top of the lipstick, so you can add that to make your look more complete.

I absolutely love this look! I wear it all the time because it’s easy to do and really flattering. Kim Kardashian is definitely my number 1 inspiration whenever I do a smokey eye :)

Au revoir!
