Beauty Box: April Glossybox UK Review

Guess what arrived through the post today? It’s the April Glossybox! I’m loving the fact that Glossybox is changing the looks of the boxes every month, giving me something to look forward to when I see the little parcel waiting for me. This month, the box was a pastel colour, which immediately reminded me of the fact that pastels are super en vogue this Spring. Coincidence? I don’t think so! Let’s have a look at the contents of this pretty box.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum: A serum for the face and neck, which feels light on the skin like a serum, but moisturising like a cream. It’s plant-based and ingredients include Organic Grape Water and Hyaluronic Acid; it certainly felt good and refreshing on the skin! It reminds me a bit of Benefit’s Moisture Prep Toning Lotion, just a bit thicker. The deluxe size sample is exclusive to Glossybox and the 30ml bottle retails for £26.10 (link).

Inika Cosmetics Certified Organic Lip Liner (#3 Sugar Plum): This lip liner is made of cold pressed plant waxes, oils and natural pigments. I found it to be very pigmented and surprisingly smooth, gliding without any effort on my lips. The shade I got is a reddish brown rusty colour. It looks pretty as a lipstick and it doesn’t cling to my dry patches. However, saying that, I’m more of a pink lips kind of girl, so I found this shade a bit too dark for my taste. I’m definitely intrigued to find out more about these lip liners and see if they do any other shades more appealing to me! Each liner retails at £11.75 (link).

Monu Professional Skincare Hand and Nail Cream: This is quite a rich and thick cream that can be used to condition hands and nails. A little goes a long way with this product, and I’ve found it to work better on my nails than on my hands. I’ve heard that this is a great cream to use during manicures! The 50ml tube retails for £10.95 (link).

Figs & Rouge Lip Balm (Peppermint & Tea Tree): This is the second Figs & Rouge lip balm I’ve tried and loved. First of all, this one smells A-mazing! Honestly, I couldn’t stop sniffing my hands after applying it. I did find it to be a bit too greasy and thick textured for the hands, but it’s absolutely perfect for my dry and chapped lips! You can check out the whole collectible balms collection on the Figs & Rouge website. Each 8ml pot retails for £3.29 (link).

Philip B Styling Gel: It’s a soft-hold gel that gives hair volume, texture and definition. It contains sea weed extracts of Irish moss (I have no idea if that’s good or bad, to be honest!) and Vitamin B5. I applied a bit of the product on the ends of my hair and scrunched it up. The result was this amazing voluminous wet look which I loved! This will be perfect for the summer to give my hair some natural looking messy waves. It also works well if you apply it lightly to the roots of the hair before blow-drying to add volume and thickness. The 178ml tube costs £13 (link). What a bargain! I’ll definitely stock up on these :)

Overall, this month’s Glossybox was, in my opinion, one of the best so far. It’s proof you don’t necessarily need the big brands to make a good box. I have certainly enjoyed discovering new brands such as Philip B and I loved everything I got in my box. I’m now looking forward to my May Glossybox!

What are you thoughts on the April Glossybox? Did it appeal to your taste? Will you be unsubscribing? I probably won’t cancel my subscription yet… although I have been saying this since November last year. Oopsie! :)

Au revoir!

Ysis
