May Glossybox: The Anniversary Box (Review)

May Glossybox: The Anniversary Box

Happy Birthday, Glossybox! I can’t believe it’s been a year already that beauty boxes started to pop along, making us feel like it’s Christmas every month. I still remember my very first Glossybox, and if you fancy a trip down to memory lane, click here to read my 6 month milestone Glossybox review.

This month Glossybox spoilt us with quite a few surprises in the Anniversary box. Are you ready? Let’s have a look inside :)

May Glossybox: The Anniversary Box

Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath & Shower Gel – Inspired by the natural and cultural riches of the British Isles, Noble Isle really knows how to put summer in a bottle of shower gel. This smells so summery that I may just save a little for winter, when I need a little reminder of what is summer!

Lolita Lempicka L’Eau en Blanc & Eau de Parfum – I generally hate getting these little perfume samples in beauty boxes, but when the name written in the bottle is ‘Lolita Lempicka’, the rules change! I’m absolutely in love with L’Eau en Blanc. It smells so feminine, fresh and chic, and I’ve already finished my sample. To be honest, I’m a little (a lot!) tempted to buy the full size bottle. If you’re as tempted as I am, you can get a free Parisian shopper with any Lolita Lempicka purchase of 50ml or more from House of Fraser (online or in store).

Neal’s Yard Remedies Rehydrating Rose Daily Moisture – It’s a well know fact that I don’t like rose-scented products. I think it smells of baby poo (sorry!) and anything rose-scented just really puts me off. I don’t really have to say much about this product if I tell it has a strong rose smell. Definitely not for me!

Collection Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner – This was the most exciting product in my box. I got the shade ‘teal’ and I love it! The gel eyeliner is really smooth to apply and quite easy to work with as it doesn’t smudge at all. Trust me, I’ve got very shaky hands! I used the little brush that came with the liner and it worked really well. Great for a pop of colour, especially with the sun shinning outside :)

May Glossybox: The Anniversary Box

Eldora False Eyelashes – I’m not a false eyelashes kind of gal. I’m just useless at applying them, but I promise I’ll give these a try soon!

May Glossybox: The Anniversary Box

Glossybox Mirror – Last but not least, Glossybox included a little surprise in the box. A cute little mirror with the Glossybox logo at the front. Aw, so cute. Thank you, Glossybox!

Overall, I really liked this month’s box. The whole beauty box concept is becoming a little bit repetitive and I found myself giving away a lot more than what I kept for myself. But every so often there’s a good surprise in the boxes, which is the reason why I’m still subscribed to two of them. I don’t know if I’ll keep my subscription for another year, but it’s been great so far :)

What do you think of the Anniversary Glossybox? What did you get in yours?

Oh you got the same as me bar different eyelashes. Unfortunately despite being an eyelash girl mine have coloured diamantes over them which is not me at all but other than that I am pretty pleased with this box. I was a little sceptical at first about the eyeliner but having seen it now on you its actually really pretty.

I have got the same box :) the eyeliner suits you really well, I think it’s because you have brown eyes and darker skin, I look not so good with a white face and this colour :) I also liked the smell of a bath gel, it reminds me of men perfume :D

The teal liner looks gorgeous. I’m tempted a little (a lot ;) ) to recreate it tomorrow morning for class. :)
I must admit, I’ve been quite smitten by your blog as I find the products that work for you, working quite well for me too. It also must have something to do with skin-tone similarities (I’m Indian, NC40, brown eyes- practically a minority in the blogosphere). I’d love to see more tutorials for class and office, suited to our skintone and eye colour. :) Thank you! x

Ahhh they should’ve given my lashes to you :) I felt the same when I opened the box at first, but the gel liner is amazing and after trying some of the other stuff I was quite pleased! xx

Definitely do it, and send me a pic so I can see how it turned out :)
Yeah, it’s hard to find reviews of products by people who have similar skin tone and skin type to ours. I’ll definitely add some office/school makeup tutorials to my list of upcoming blog posts! xx
