YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick (Review & Swatches)
YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in ‘Rose Carnation’ (#11), £23.50 | Debenhams
YSL makes one of the best and most luxurious beauty products in the market, but their lipsticks are something out of this world! This is only my second YSL lipstick, but due to its hefty price tag I have to pick and choose the ones that will give me my money’s worth. Having previously reviewed Rouge Volupté in ‘Spicy Pink’, now I have a Rouge Pur Couture in ‘Rose Carnation’.
Here are some particular details of both Rouge Volupté and Rouge Pur Couture ranges:
Rouge Volupté
- Bright colours
- Creamy texture becomes fluid on contact with the lips
- Mango flavour
- Mirror effect which reflects the light
- Rich colour
Rouge Pur Couture
- Unique shades inspired by YSL’s emblematic colours: red, fuchsia and orange
- Silky finish
- Moisturising and protective texture
- Colour is sheer, but buildable
Having tried both ranges I much prefer the creamy texture of Rouge Volupté, but I love the silky finish of the Rouge Pur Couture. ‘Rose Carnation’ is a sheer pink shade, which gives me a ‘my lips but better’ look and adds a sexy wet shine to my lips! I’ve named it the ‘hassle free lippie’ of my collection. I can count on it for any occasion, it won’t let me down!

The lasting power is not great, I had to reapply it about 4 times in a period of 4 hours. However it is incredibly moisturising and non-sticky. I almost feel like it heals the dry patches on my lips when I have it on. I’m definitely going to carefully invest on other shades from both the Rouge Volupté and the Rouge Pur Couture collections. I’m thinking a striking red or a nude lippie :)

I have the YSL Rouge Volupte in Faberge Peach, and I absolutely love how it melts on your lips upon applications! I’ve tried both Dior and Chanel’s lipsticks before, and while they are of high quality, I still can’t get over YSL’s fluid texture :P
I love the color of Rose Carnation, it’s very pretty :) I definitely want to invest in another YSL lipstick in the future, maybe I’ll check out their Pur Couture line next!

I know exactly what you mean! I love my Dior lippie, but the YSL ones are always the ones I reach for when I want the best lipstick :) I may have to check out the Faberge Peach… I’ll blame you if I end up buying it! hehe xx

YSL is a pricey brand but i do agree on your view points, i love the bubblegum pink shade and the overall packaging of the lipstick is great too ^^

This is the one lipstick shade which looks best on me. But it makes my lips peel off! Its such a drama! I coudln´t find a dupe so far! I was hoping the new babydoll cheek kiss would have this shade but doesn´t look like it. Anybody know an exact dupe?!?
