Week’s Favourites #1

1. Blog: Dizzybrunette3

Corrie has been one of my favourite bloggers for a long time, and I lust over pretty much anything she talks about on her blog. She is absolutely gorgeous and rocks a pair of shorts like no one else! She does amazing product reviews, very detailed and informative, but more than that I love how her personality shines through every single blog post. You don’t need to see her typing to know Corrie wrote that post! If you haven’t yet, do check out her blog at dizzybrunette3.com :)

2. Food: Ristorante Pizza

I’ve been buying these pizzas for over a year now and they are my all time favourite! You can get them from most supermarkets, my favourite one is the Pizza Mozzarella, which tastes amazing on its own, but I like to add a few slices of ham and a bit of grated cheese on top before putting it in the oven. It makes for the perfect meal on those lazy days when you just can’t be bothered to cook.

3. Beauty: MAC Lipstick in Creme de la Femme

I’ve managed to accumulate a ridiculous amount of lipsticks over the past 3 months, so it’s hard for me to stick to one lipstick in particular for a long time, as I feel like I need to use everything I own. This week I’ve been showing a lot of love to ‘Creme de la Femme’, a rose pink shade with subtle gold shimmer. It’s so flattering on the lips and really compliments my skin tone.

4. Music: A Spoonful of Sugar – Mary Poppins

“For a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down in a most delightful way…”. My boyfriend and I have had the Mary Poppins soundtrack CD in our car lately and I’ve been enjoying it so much! My favourite song is ‘A Spoonful of Sugar’, especially after I heard a recording of the songwriters explaining the creative process behind that song; so interesting!

5. Fashion: ASOS Wrap Dress With Sequin Cuff

I’m cheating a bit on this one, because I don’t (yet) own it, but I have been drooling over it for the past week, ever since I saw it on the gorgeous Amy Antoinette. The rose gold sequin cuffs are adorable and I think this dress will look gorgeous with a cracking tan. I may have to bite the bullet and get it sooner rather than later :)

6. Literature: Mockingjay (part III of The Hunger Games Trilogy)

I’ve already professed my love for the Hunger Games series. I’ve managed to finish the first two books but my brain is refusing to finish the third book, as I won’t have a fourth to carry on reading. This week I’ve made a concerted effort to speed up and finish it, so it has kind of been my favourite part of the evening to go to bed and read a few pages before going to sleep!

7. iPhone app: Song Pop

I’ve been addicted to this app. It’s pretty much like ‘Draw Something’, but for music. You can challenge your friends on Facebook, by e-mail, or just choose a random opponent. Every challenge consists of 5 songs that you have to guess either the Artist or the Song Title by listening to a little snippet of the song. The quicker you guess, the more points you get. So there you go, get downloading and challenge me :) My username is ‘lebeautygirl’.

8. TV Programme: Friends

Comedy Central shows re-runs of my all time favourite TV show, Friends, pretty much all day long. But last week I got into a routine of watching the episodes religiously for the 10th time and they showed the very last episode of Friends, which was so amazing; I still remember exactly where I was when I saw it for the first time :) Anyway, now they’ve started showing the episodes from the 1st series, so I’ve been enjoying watching the oldies as well!

9. Jewellery: Teapot Necklace

Ok, I know I’m biased because the necklace is from my little shop, but I’ve been loving this Teapot Crystal necklace. I’ve had so many compliments on it and it’s just been perfect with the whole ‘British-ness’ that’s going on around the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. If you fancy getting your hands on one, you can get it by clicking on this link, but hurry – I only have 4 left :)

10. Photography: Unexpected Cuddles

This is my favourite photo I took last week. Isn’t she adorable? I was out in the garden, trying to make the most of the cloudy day (best lighting setting for photography) to snap some pics of my stripy nails and she started to circle me. Every time I put my hand out to take a photo, she would rub her face against my hand and demand attention. Aw love her!

So that’s the end of my Week’s Favourites! Let me know if you’d like this to be a permanent feature here on the blog. It’s been so much fun to write and it’s a great way to let you all into other segments of my life. It’s not all about beauty, you know? :)

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend, and for those of you in the UK, enjoy the extra days off!
