Week’s Favourites #2

1. Blog: Jemm Frances Says So

Technically I only found Jemm’s blog last night, but she’s already earning the Blog of The Week title. Jemm is neither a beauty nor a fashion blogger (apart from from the occasional and rather impressive nail art blog post). She writes about things, facts, occurrences, thoughts, fairy tales, frustrations. I spent my entire evening going through every single one of her posts and thinking, ‘Oh my God, I’m the same!‘. Her blog is so cleverly written and easy to relate to; I honestly thing every girl needs some of Jemm’s words of wisdom in her life. She can put into words what I can only formulate as thoughts. Isn’t that remarkable? Anyway, enough of me talking about her, go and read her blog at jemmfrances.wordpress.com :)

2. Food: Roast Dinner

Ahh who doesn’t love a good Sunday Roast? I can’t believe I’ve lived without it my entire life before I moved to the UK! Now the possibility of having a homemade roast dinner has turned Sunday into my favourite day of the week. Yum!

3. Beauty: Sleek Blush By 3 in Lace

I picked this up last time I was in London and I haven’t been able to put it down. All three colours are super flattering on my skin tone and pigmentation is incredible! I especially like dabbing a bit of the darker shade on my cheeks and be done with my makeup for days when I’m home chilling out. I’ve written a full review with swatches, so if you want to know a bit more about this kit, click here to read my review.

4. Music: Swanee River – Stephen Foster

I’ve never had any music lessons until a couple of years ago, my boyfriend decided he wanted to teach me to play the piano. I’m still a newbie at the whole thing, but I have learnt 3 songs, and one of them (my favourite) is Swanee River. Now, if you’re quite advanced on the piano you’re probably thinking, “Aw, bless her. Such an easy piece!“, but I’m quite proud of myself that I can play the entire song even though I’ve never had any formal training :)

5. Fashion: Uncle K Handbag

I got this bag back in February when I was in Brazil on holiday for a couple of months. I’ve been changing back and forth between this bag and another darker brown bag, but for the past week this was my go-to handbag. Unfortunately, a couple of days ago I lost one of the front decorative buttons, so I’ll probably have to put the bag away this week and try to find the button :) I’ve also written a blog post about it, so click here if you want to read it!

6. Literature: Property Law and Practice

Some of you may not know I’m a qualified lawyer besides being a beauty blogger. That’s the reason why this book is being featured this week! I’ve been doing some property legal work and this book was a great source of information. I won’t bore you with any more details :)

7. iPhone app: Pandora app

Back in March my mum got me a Pandora bracelet! I started off with only 3 charms (they’re quite pricey!) but my recent find of the Pandora app has had me eyeing quite a few more charms. Danger, danger! The app is super easy to browse, and if you sign up for a free account, you can create a list of the charms you already have and the charms you want to get. I haven’t yet shown my bracelet and charms here, but let me know if you’d like me to do that on an upcoming blog post.

8. TV Programme: Made in Chelsea

I won’t lie, I’m a massive fan of reality shows. I watch all of them and ‘believe’ them to be real, until the boyfriend says, ‘Don’t be silly, they’re blatantly acting for the cameras!‘. So, knowing that about me, you wouldn’t believe I had not seen any of the Made in Chelsea or TOWIE series until last week. I know, super weird! But anyway, I asked around twitter last week if I should give in to MIC, and the answer you guys gave me was ‘DO IT‘. So I did it… and now I’m hooked! I’ve watched 3 episodes of the first series and I’m seriously addicted. Right now I’m feeling quite sorry for Funda and kind of hating Caggie and Spencer for flirting with each other with no consideration for Funda. This time I won’t let my boyfriend burst my bubble and tell me they’re acting :-)

9. Jewellery: Owl ring (COMING SOON on ysisaccesories.com) AVAILABLE NOW!

Another one from Ysis Accessories. This is sneak preview of what’s to come this week! HOW CUTE IS THIS RING? I can’t get enough of it! I’ve even named my owl ‘Dennis’ (don’t ask!). So keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of days on www.ysisaccessories.com and be ready to guarantee your own owl as I only have 3 in stock. What will you be naming your cute owl?

10. Photography: Smarties cake

Last week my blog turned 1 and I had a major celebration with cakes and giveaways! I just love the simplicity of this picture and how the colours stand out so nicely against the white background. Besides, the cake was super tasty! Click here to read about my blog’s anniversary frolics :)

These are my favourites. What are yours? Do share what you’ve loved last week and have a lovely day, everyone! :)

I’ve recently been reading Jemm’s blog too! I love it. And I’m always thinking ‘yes’.

Yes, I have had a growing obsession with Made in Chelsea. At first I turned my nose up, but after watching an episode of TOWIE and MiC, it’s quite addictive! Although I prefer MiC, because it seems a bit more real (in a posh way) and I think they have better ‘acting’ and *ahem* a few more brain cells. (No offence to TOWIE) I’ve just finished the first series of MiC and I can’t wait to start the second!
And I love Smartie cake – Congrats on your blog turning 1! I love it, especially your recent 10 in 10 minutes evening look.

Aw, that’s so nice to hear! I completely agree about MIC, I much prefer their glamourous lives than TOWIE. The conversation is much more stimulating :)

I’m so glad you like the look! Thank you, Hannah :)
    xx
