Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance (Review & Swatches)
Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch, £3.99 || Boots
This is my second attempt at finding the perfect budget cheekbone highlighter for a Summer Glow (read about my first attempt HERE). I was recommended this product by the lovely Adrienne from The Sunday Girl when I asked her thoughts on Benefit SunBeam, and she suggested I gave this one a go, as it is cheaper and she absolutely loves it; I couldn’t decide which one I liked better so I got both!
This is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch, a highlighter with a mousse formula that promises to give an instant boost of shimmer radiance. The product is very easy to blend and a little goes a long way; the smallest drop will give you a huge colour payoff! There are only two colours available: Radiant Rose, a soft pink shade, and Shimmering Sand, a nude champagne colour.
Shimmering Sand is so far my favourite of the two. It goes in well with my skin tone and it leaves a lovely glow with little bits of shimmer when fully blended. As a cheekbone highlighter, it did a good job, but not quite as amazing as I was expecting. Maybe I used too little and blended it too much, but it seemed to wear off very quickly throughout the day.
I’m yet to try Radiant Rose on my face, but I think it will look really pretty over the top of a pink blusher to intensify the colour and add a hint of shimmer over the top. Also, compared to ‘Shimmering Sand’, this one seemed to have a longer staying power when swatched on my hand. I’ll definitely get back to you with photos of me wearing both of these :)
I’m really happy I got both of these and I think they will serve different purposes (which slightly justifies me buying two of the same products… maybe not!). They are super pigmented and lovely colours to add a hint of shimmer!
What do you think of the Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch? Have you tried any other similar highlighters?
