Today was a beautiful day! It was the first day since 2013 started that I left the house without a coat. I sat outside in my garden, feeling the cool breeze and the warm sun on my face, and it suddenly hit me – I haven’t even mentioned Spring on my blog this year! Last year, Spring came early and I was all over the Spring trends and launches; this year, I almost couldn’t differentiate between Winter and Spring… until today! Enough rambling, let me show you my top picks from the YSL Spring 2013 Collection.

Shade

At first, this looks like a soft corally orange shade, but because my lips are naturally quite pigmented, the orange comes out a bit stronger and it can easily be mistaken for an orange red shade when I apply 2 layers. Regardless, it’s a gorgeous shade, super Spring appropriate and if I want it to look softer, I’ll only apply 1 layer.

Quality

On the quality department, I give nothing less than ‘exceptional’ marks to this product; I own a few other Glossy Stains and they never disappoint. Click here to read my previous review of the YSL Glossy Stain in more detail.

Shade

The most gorgeous rosy pink shade ever! It’s perfect for my taste and skin colour, but you can tailor it to your personal taste and wear it lighter or darker, depending on how much product you apply. I’m totally head over heels for this blush and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good cream blush.

Packaging

I’m absolutely in love with this blush; could this be my new favourite blush?! It very well could, and I’ll tell you why. For starters, being YSL the packaging is gorgeous; the design of the mirrored gold lid and see-through base is extremely elegant and it definitely stands out in my makeup collection.

Quality

The product itself is a cream that sets to a powder (non-chalky) finish. After it’s blended, the blush retains its exceptional pigmentation and leaves a lovely natural finish; on the skin, it feels like a powder blush, but it looks like a cream blush. I guess it’s like having the best of both worlds!

So these are my top picks from the YSL Spring 2013 Collection. You don’t have to buy all new makeup to update your makeup bag; sometimes a new blush and lipstick can make all the difference in your transition between Winter and Spring!

What do you think of these products? Isn’t the blush to die for? Have you tried anything from the YSL Spring 2013 Collection? Let me know :)
