Back when I lived in Brazil, I always wanted to be paler and having Summer all year round meant I had a permanent tan. So being pale was like the coolest thing ever! Well, 5 years after I moved to the UK, which is right about now, I’ve reached the palest I have ever been in my entire life and I regret ever wishing to be paler! My skin just doesn’t suit not having a bit of colour – it’s grey, dull and basically very dead-looking. Not fun!

I’m not saying I’m going to start fake tanning regularly, because I don’t think that suits me either. I need an actual sun tan – nothing extreme, just enough to get rid of this ghastly grey cast over my skin! But whilst the promise of sunshine is still a dream here in England, I’ve found a few products to help me out, including this Becca Bronzing Skin Perfector, which I’m totally obsessed with and so will you after you hear what I have to say about it.

Becca Bronzing Skin Perfector

I’m new to Becca products, and although I’ve heard lots about the brand on blogs, this is my first time trying a Becca product. The Becca Bronzing Skin Perfector can be used instead of foundation to even out the skin and give a natural sun-kissed effect, and it can also be used on top of foundation as a bronzer. At first I though it was really dark and shimmery, so I didn’t think this was going to suit me, but after blending it, I realised it was kind of perfect for my skin tone!

It blends so nicely and easily into the skin, and the shimmer is really subtle. I applied it all over before foundation and I could immediately see a lovely warm glow on my face. The product comes out of the tube looking so dark, but don’t worry, it blends in fine! If you’re very pale then it may be a bit on the dark side for you, but anyone with light medium skin tone or darker should be ok.

The Bronzing Skin Perfector is scented but nothing strong or unpleasant, it has a creamy gel consistency like the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation, and it sets very quickly after blending, leaving a smooth and non-sticky finish on the skin.

For bronzer and contour this product is exceptional! I applied it on the hollows of my cheeks, where I would normally contour, and I love how it blends so naturally with my foundation without loosing its pigmentation. I’ve tried cream bronzers before and this is definitely one of the best. I can see this being my go-to bronzer for Summer! I like to top it up with my Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Powder, just to increase the longevity of the bronzer.

Even though shimmery products are technically not ideal for contouring, it doesn’t really bother me. I’ve always used a shimmery bronzer for contouring and never thought it looked odd or anything. I think the secret is to choose a shimmery product that looks more glowy and sun-kissed than glitter ball!

Overall I’m extremely pleased with the Becca Bronzing Skin Perfector and it gets a big thumbs up from me! Have you tried this before? Let me know your thoughts :)
