My Week in Pictures (14 – 20 April 2014)

I stopped doing ‘my week in pictures’ updates a long time ago, but I’ve decided to start doing them again, as I was looking at my old updates and I really enjoyed documenting the lifestyle part of my week here on the blog. Here we go! :)

Monday

I hit 7,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel, and yes, I’m one of those people who get really excited with every single milestone! #thelittlethings :) Thank you all for being so supportive and subscribing, liking, commenting on my videos; it really does mean the world to me! :)

Tuesday

Filming day! I tried to film a few videos and take lots of blog photos in advance, because I was going away for Easter, so I wanted to have a posts & videos scheduled in advance. I don’t normally film on the doorway of my bedroom, but Tuesday was a gorgeous sunny day, and I was trying to make the most of the pretty golden lighting in my bedroom! I also used my 2 Softboxes for additional lighting and an improvised makeup table, with my mirror being propped up by boxes and books. So high-tech! :)

Wednesday

Editing day! After the previous productive filming day, I had an equally productive editing sesh on Wednesday. Fuelled by lots of tea, I sat in my office with my eyes glued to the iMac from 7am to 8pm straight, with very few bathroom breaks in the middle. I even forgot to have breakfast and lunch – that’s what I call dedication… bordering on obsession! Who else can’t stop until they’ve finished what they started? Guilty as charged.

Friday

I skipped Thursday because it was basically a repetition of Wednesday plus panic-packing at 3am, so moving on to Good Friday, we woke up way too early to make the super long journey down to St. Ives in Cornwall, where we would be staying for the Easter holiday with our family. After 6 hours in the car, we arrived in St. Ives and it felt pretty damn nice to sink my feet into the sand, drink this delicious Ben Shaws Bitter Shandy and stare at the blue skies and beautiful sea! Can I please live there forever? :)

Saturday

Still in St. Ives, we had such a relaxing day people-watching at the beach, walking along the shopping street and playing with my little nephew at the beach. For dinner, my father-in-law cooked us a delicious Spaghetti Bolognese with garlic bread, and after dinner, we went down to The Sloop Inn for one too many pints, live music and drinking games. We played word association and word disassociation, which in theory is very easy, but try playing it after the 3rd glass of wine when your vocabulary has suddenly shrunk to a handful of words… mission impossible!

Sunday

Needless to say that after Saturday’s fun and games, waking up on Easter Sunday was not fun, especially considering we had to be up early to go to church and survive through a 2-hour service without falling asleep! But I made it, and even managed to do a winged eyeliner pretty well if I may say so :) Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse later on in the day, so we decided to go back to the house and turn it in for the day. We watched TV, had some food (the brave ones had Piri Piri chicken wings and I had cheese on toast because I’m a wimp and I can’t handle spicy food!), a few more drinks, games and just generally enjoyed some good quality family time.

I hope you enjoyed this type of blog post and having a little nosey at my week :) You can follow me on Instagram to see some of these pictures first hand, but I’ll also be posting exclusive ones here, so come back next week for another weekly update! :)

What was the highlight of your week?
