Nioxin Sponsors First Thinning Hair Awareness Week 18th February 2013
A couple of weeks ago I went along to the Michael John Salon in Mayfair to learn more about Nioxin; I’ve heard quite good things about the brand, but I’ve never tried any of their products, so I was excited to learn more about it.
Nioxin products are best known for helping with thinning hair issues, and the brand has a very interesting approach to haircare; its products treat the scalp using skincare methods, making sure that we can make the most of our own hair. Nioxin products can’t make hair grow, but they will put your scalp in the best condition possible for your hair to grow healthier, thicker and fuller. Thinning hair is not so much of a problem to me at the moment (although I am guilty of damaging my hair a lot!), so I was pleased to find that, because the scalp is the main target of Nioxin’s products, they can help with a range of other hair issues linked to the scalp, not just thinning hair.
Nioxin is sponsoring the first Thinning Hair Awareness Week starting on the 18th February; if this is a particular concern of yours, you can go into selected salons across the UK to speak to a Nioxin specialist about your issue and receive some advice on how to deal with it.
I was lucky enough to take home one of the Nioxin Hair System Kits to try for myself. There are 6 kits, and each targets different types of hair; I chose System 5* for normal to thin-looking, medium to coarse, natural or chemically treated hair. Some of the benefits of the treatment that I think will help my hair, include reducing hair fall due to breakage, strengthening hair resilience against cuticle damage and cleansing excessive sebum from scalp. Nioxin will give your money back if you don’t see visible results in 30 days!
I’m looking forward to trying this kit and I will keep you informed on how I get on with it. I’m not expecting my hair to look thicker, but I’ll keep an eye on the hair fall due to breakage side of things because that’s what affects me the most. I’ll also be paying another visit to the Michael John Salon later this month to have a scalp dermabrasion treatment, which sounds scary but exciting :)
