The Body Shop Cheek & Lip Stain (Review)

The Body Shop Cheek & Lip Stain, £10 (FREE with Marie Claire, June edition)

The June edition of Marie Claire comes with a free Lip & Cheek Stain from The Body Shop, which normally costs £10 each, but you can get it for free with your £3.70 Marie Claire. Major bargain! There are two choices of colour, ‘Rose Pink’ and ‘Bronze Glimmer’. ‘Rose Pink’ is your traditional reddish lip stain colour, very similar to Benefit’s Benetint. ‘Bronze Glimmer’ is a bronzy colour with a hint of gold.

At first sight, Rose Pink looked like a much safer choice because you can hardly go wrong with red lip tint. But there was something about ‘Bronze Glimmer’ that caught my eye and decided I needed to see it for myself. I’m happy to report it didn’t disappoint!

The duo-chrome colour on the bottle translates into a sheer stain with golden reflex that catches the light beautifully! I wasn’t too impressed with the staying power or the smell/taste. The stain seems to disappear if you rub your lips together which is a real shame because I was making all sorts of plans to wear this in the Summer with a cracking tan. I can’t really see me wearing this as a cheek stain, but maybe as a shimmery highlighter!
