Unless you’ve been living under a rock or aren’t into beauty that much, you will have heard about the new Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer. Curiosity got the best of me so I went and go a couple of these to try.

The Rimmel Apocalips are truly amazing. They come in a lipgloss-like packaging with a little applicator and all, but don’t be fooled but the looks, inside you will find a great lipstick! The Apocalips are in fact liquid lipsticks; when applied to the lips this lipstick melts into a soft and glossy finish, much like the YSL Glossy Stains, but a bit thicker in consistency. Despite being glossy and moisturising, there is no compromise in pigmentation. I was blown away but how pigmented these can be and it lasted on the lips with no top-ups for a good 4 hours; after that, a quick reapplication kept the colour going strong for the next 4 hours without a problem.

The Apocalips collection comprises of 8 shades – Galaxy, Celestial, Nova, Apocoliptic, Big Bang, Luna, Stella and Eclipse. The shade above is called Celestial and it is by far my favourite shade; it’s the perfect mixture of coral, pink and nude. When applied lightly it looks more nude-pink and natural, and when layered a few times, it turns into a beautiful coral pink shade that makes my face face look brighter and my teeth look whiter!

Over the past week or so, this has been my go-to lipstick for everyday; I honesty don’t have a bad word to say about the Rimmel Apocalips! It’s highly pigmented, glossy, long-lasting, easy to apply and remove, great shade range and well priced. If you haven’t tried them yet, I highly recommend giving them a try; I know I’m going back for more!
