The Unloved Products Look

The Unloved Products Makeup Look

Before I filmed my Room Tour & Makeup Collection video, I had a major sort out of my makeup! I threw away loads of old mascaras, oxidised foundations and gave whatever I didn’t really use to my friends & family. As a result, I found lots of unloved products amongst whatever was left and I felt a bit guilty for having so much makeup and only sticking to the same things all the time. So today I rummaged through my beauty products and created this makeup look using my most unloved products – well, kind of!

The Unloved Products Makeup Look

I started by moisturising my skin with the Simple Sun-Kissed Moisture Cream, which is not actually an unloved product, but it’s something I got recently and I’ve been meaning to try it. This is a light gradual tan which contains lots of vitamins and best of all, it doesn’t have that horrible fake tan smell – hallelujah! I haven’t had it long enough to comment on the gradual tan aspect of it, but I’ll keep you guys posted, probably via twitter or instagram. Next, I applied a few dots of MAC Lustre Drops in Pink Rebel on the high points of my face to add a natural luminosity to my complexion.

For my base I reluctantly ditched GA Luminous Silk for the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation in 53 Light Beige, which is a tad paler than my Luminous Silk 5,5 shade, and therefore it’s a better colour match for my winter skin. I then concealed my dark circles with the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach Bisque, and that stubborn little cold sore scar under my nose with the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20 – the only irreplaceable product in my collection – and set everything in place with the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder in Medium Dark. Gosh I  really missed using this powder!

To add some life back into my face, I opted for two Benefit products that I haven’t used in over a year – Benefit Hoola Bronzer and Benefit Bella Bamba Blusher. Bella Bamba is perfect for medium olive skin tones as it’s a warm enough pink that doesn’t completely disappear into the skin, and Hoola is amazing for that chiseled cheekbones look! For my eyebrows I went back to the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint & Precision Shaping Pencil, and every time I use it I think, ‘must make a mental note to use this more often!’.

My eye makeup is probably the only thing I switch up regularly, but it still doesn’t manage to keep up with the amount of eye palettes I seem to hoard! I was adamant I was going to get my money’s worth out of the NARS Narsissist Palette, so I started with a rosy-bronzy shade called Nepal all over the lid, then I applied this rich coppery-brown shade called Fez on the outer corner with a blending brush. Next, I dabbed the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Luminous Eye Shadow in Vision on the centre of my eyes and towards the inner corner; just a little pause here – how the heck did I ever forget I had this beauty in my stash?! Seriously, this is absolutely gorgeous!

I applied the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Rockstar on my lower waterline and upper lashline. I love this deep purple/eggplant shade! It’s just so unusual and it really makes my brown eyes standout. To finish off the eyes I used one of my old favourite mascaras, the Rimmel SandalEyes Show Off Mascara; this is seriously the best mascara for volumising my lashes! On the lips, I had a look in what used to be my most reached for drawer – the MAC drawer. There I found my MAC Lipstick in Please Me, which was definitely my most worn lipstick of 2012! I layered the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Pink Afterglow over the top, and even though lately I’ve been really into matte lips, I still think this is my ‘desert-island’ lipgloss.

And this is the finished look! Considering I used mostly estranged products for this look, I really like how it turned out! If you’ve made it this far, would mind answering a little question regarding my blog? I’ve been trying to be more consistent with my blog posts & videos and I wanted to know if you guys are happy with the time that I normally publish new content here on the blog. It’s usually at 7.30pm for blog posts & 8.30pm for videos. How does that work for you? :) Thanks a lot!
