Triangl ‘Indy’ Bikini in Arizona Sunset (Review & Photos)
I’m sure you’ve all seen and heard about Triangl by now – you know, that Aussie swimwear brand that has taken over Instagram, Tumblr and blogs with their colourful neoprene bikinis! Of course I jumped on the bandwagon when Triangl offered me the chance to try one of their bikinis, after all, Summer is on its way and I really need to work on my bikini collection (and body for that matter!).
Before deciding which Triangl bikini would be the best for me, I turned to blogs & vlogs for advice, and although I could find lots of imagery, there weren’t many comprehensive reviews that covered everything from material, fit, price, shipping, etc. Also, I saw a lot of very slim and fit girls wearing the Triangl bikinis, but not many curvy girls like me, so I couldn’t really tell if the bikini would look right on me. Hopefully my review will be useful to some of you looking to buy your first Triangl bikini or just interested in seeing how the Triangl Indy Bikini Set looks in real life.
What is Triangl and what’s unique about the brand?
A bit of background on Triangl – it’s an Australian brand that specialises in selling neoprene swimwear and micro mesh underwear with a nylon/spandex composition. Neoprene is the material used in wetsuits for its excellent thermal insulation, and it seems logical that bikinis follow the same trend to benefit from this firmer and stretchy material, which shapes the body really nicely. It’s kind of genius and I haven’t seen it done before!
How does the bikini look/feel on the body?
At first I thought it would look a bit weird and stiff, considering neoprene is such a firm fabric, but it actually hugs the curves on the body really nicely and comfortably. The fabric is firmer than normal bikini fabric, but it’s not hard.
Do sizes run small or big?
Sizing depends on the model of Triangl bikini you choose, but for the Triangl Indy, which is the one I got, the material has some stretch to it, but not that much on the top, so if you’re looking for full coverage, it’s recommended you go one size up.
With my rather large bosom (34DD/32E), I decided to go for XL on the top, which is the largest size they do, and it was definitely the right choice for me! It fits really well covering all the important bits, but it’s not overly large that it hugs from corner to corner of my breasts, which I personally quite like. It’s modest and sexy at the same time!
I found the Triangl Indy bottoms to be true to size; I went for a M because I don’t need any extra love handles, thank you very much. Bikinis that are tight on the bottom are a huge pet peeve of mine and that’s why I always choose the ones with the adjustable side ties. These are not what I’m used to, as Brazilian bikinis tend to be a bit smaller and they provide less bum-coverage than the average US and European bikinis, but I actually think these are quite flattering and not at all granny-ish and floppy! If you’re having trouble deciding which size to choose, Triangl has a live chat available 24/7 with personal and tailored sizing advice, so make the most of it!
How bright are the colours?
The Triangl Indy is available in lots of colours and patterns, but the ones that really caught my eye were Arizona Sunset (orange) and Malibu Blue (blue); I chose Arizona Sunset, as I thought the orange shade would suit my skin tone really well, especially with a tan. It’s also a very unusual shade of orange – it’s kind of pastel but neon at the same time!
Is the material good quality?
What impressed me the most about this Triangl bikini was the attention to detail, the quality of the fabric and the exceptional build quality! The material feels very durable and there are no wonky stitches or loose cotton – I love the little square tassels at the end of the ties with ‘Triangl’ engraved on them!
How is it packaged and what comes with it?
Your swimwear comes with super cute neoprene bag matching the colour of your bikini, which I think is a rather lovely touch! The bag can be used to store your bikini flat, to prevent creasing, as well as for carrying your wet clothes from the beach!
Do they deliver internationally?
Even though Triangl is an Aussie brand, they deliver internationally – hooray! Shipping costs vary – in a nutshell, international shipping (including UK) costs 20 USD and for Australia they charge 10 AUD, but make sure you read their Shipping FAQ before placing an order so you know what to expect in terms of additional duties and taxes.
Would you recommend Triangl bikinis? Are they worth the price?
I would wholeheartedly recommend Triangl bikinis! I know they are not cheap at 79-89 US dollars, but having a bikini that really fits well is, in my opinion, worth the investment. You don’t have to have a hundred of them, but if you have one pair that you really feel confident wearing, that makes all the difference. If you have big boobs and a bum like me, choose the right style for you and it will fit fine on you – I recommend the Indy style for curvier girls, as it’s totally adjustable. The bikini top is my favourite, and I would love to see different styles of bikini bottoms from Triangl, mainly the fold-over ones, as I think they are really flattering and rather forgiving on some imperfections down there. Overall, this is one of the rare products that I think is totally worth the hype!

You have reviewed this so well. I keep seeing very slim girls featuring these bikinis on their blogs and I have always thought. ‘Oh well i wouldnt suit that I’m not straight up and down’ however this review has made me think otherwise! You covered everything I would like to know! I also love the photographs you have taken, it shows off the bikini well without being ‘HELLO HERE I AM IN A BIKINI’ haha
I always struggle to find a bikini that is flattering but now you’ve added Triangl to mix for one to look into! Espesh as I have a holiday in 3 months time! – best get down the gym to be honest!

Aw, thanks for a lovely comment, Leanne. I totally get what you mean; when I was browsing for pictures of this bikini on other people, I found it very frustrating that there were none of people with less than perfect bodies wearing the Triangl bikinis. I’m glad this was helpful and I totally recommend checking them out :) They are surprisingly flattering and the colour is so pretty with a tan! I’m glad you liked the photos as well – I really didn’t want them to be full-on ‘this is me wearing a bikini’, so I tried my best :)
I’ve got a holiday coming up as well so I think we both better get a move on at the gym! lol :) x

Wow! It’s great to see this bikini on someone with curves and it looks great on you! I have curves myself and again like others have said, would have been too worried about them not fitting me but you’ve shown they can look amazing! Awesome colour too

Ahh, this is too cute!! I’m not a big fan of the water, and have owned a total of ZERO bikinis throughout my life, but I do love the look of these ;)

what are your measurements if I may ask ?
Le Beauty Girl
Not sure what my measurements are – sorry! If it’s any help, I wear UK size 8/10 clothes, my jeans are 27/28 width, and my bra size is 32E/34DD :) x

Gorgeous bikini and I liked the subtle photos :). The colour looks lovely against your skin tone. I’ve seen a lot of the Triangl bikinis around at the moment but I never want to spend a lot on something I only wear 2 weeks a year. This post may have twisted my arm to have a splurge though ;)

Was just wondering how much taxes and duties you were charged?
Le Beauty Girl
I received this as a PR sample, so I wasn’t charged anything, but you can read on their website about shipping charges & duties: http://international.triangl.com/pages/shipping
I think there’s the possibility of being charged, unfortunately, but I don’t know anyone who has been charged when they’ve ordered from them. :) x

Hi I have a larger bust just like yours. I was wondering if it gives enough coverage in the front? Do your boobs kind of show in the front. I was wondering because I want to get this bikini and I’m only 14 and I want coverage. thanks
Le Beauty Girl
Hi, it gives me plenty of coverage for what I like. It still shows my cleavage (in a tasteful way) because my bust is quite full, but nothing that made me feel self-conscious. On the contrary – I’m used to Brazilian bikinis, which are always a little bit more revealing than the standard European bikinis, and the Triangl ones are my most modest bikinis :) x
Didi
Hello, I have the pink color, however whole I was tanning, some tanning oil fell on my swimsuit! After hand washing it with detergent! It still didn’t go! What do you recommend ? Thanxxx
Le Beauty Girl
Oh I’m sorry that happened to your beautiful bikini! I have no idea how you can remove the stain, but I think Triangl will be more than happy to help you. They have a 24h live chat on their website and they are pretty good at replying quickly: http://international.triangl.com/
Fingers crossed they are able to help you! :) x

I used to love Triagl but now I realized they always produce same kind of swimwear and I think it’s really boring! I dont want to wear same kind of swimwears every year. I found new brand, name is Moeva London and it has gorgeous style you should definetly check this brand

I, like another commenter, received a Fedex bill for duties and taxes of $95! This is irksome as we returned 2 of 4 bikinis purchased, and you do not automatically get a revised bill – you have to contact customs and work with them. Not worth it! Even though they have a notice on their website that you may be charged for this, my teenage daughter did not notice it, and even if she did notice it, I would have assumed a smaller charge.
Other international companies seem to have figured out how to ship to the US without sticking the customer with these charges. Triangl needs to do the same to keep their customers.
Christina
Hi Susan, how do you get a revised bill? I got an enormous customs charge and it seems unfair.
Jordyn
Hi! Do you mind measuring the sides of the triangle cups and the seam down the middle? I’m a 36D and am trying to decide between the L and XL in the style Chloe/Indy. This would be lots of help! Please and thank you! :)
Julie
Just to update, Triangl still has the same nonsense shipping policies. I am a USA customer and paid $90 for the suit + $93.48 in fees ($20 flat rate shipping + $73.48 FedEx customs charge). The out-of-pocket return cost for me to send the suit back to Hong Kong would be the same price as the suit itself. They do have a notice on the website that you are responsible for customs fees, but there is NO way a normal person anticipates that it is going to be 100% increase. I order stuff from all over the world and I have never been hit with a fee like this. I will never order from this company again and warn others to find a neoprene suit elsewhere. If you do order from Triangl, just understand that the price is DOUBLE what they list for the retail price.
